What model Electar amp does David prefer? In an old Premier Guitar interview, it is identified as a Zephyr, but a Zephyr looks too big to go in the overhead and is much larger than the one pointed out in his recent Vintage Guitar interview. Is it one of the amps with no controls that expected the player to set the volume and tone using the guitar controls?
David has a few Electar amps, including a Zephyr. The Zephyr became a little much to bring on the road, but we do fly with a small, lunchbox-sized Electar that does indeed fit in the overhead. I'm not sure of it's exact model name, but it's the one of the left in this pic.
I just had the honor of seeing David Bromberg's Big Band perform in Huntington, NY on Long Island & found David to still be as extremely enjoyable, talented, entertaining, funny, fascinating, pleasurable & fun as he was the first time I saw him backing up Jerry Jeff Walker at the now closed Main Point coffee house in Bryn Mawr, PA. in 1972...!!!
As a fellow Philadelphia, PA. native like David, I find him to be one of a kind & perhaps the best musician & entertainer in America!!!
Port Washington, NY
